Emily & Matt tied the knot at the lovely Hogarth’s Hotel and Restaurant near Solihull back in March 2012. The weather that day was glorious much better than the March we’ve had this year in comparison.
We first met Matt & Emily back in the summer of 2010 when he was one of the groomsmen in Tom and Zoe’s wedding who tied the knot at the Ramada Kidderminster. Emily was Chief Bridesmaid at Holly and Ashley’s wedding last June where Matt was Best Man. Frankie, (Hollie & Ashley’s little boy) was once again was a pageboy and still as cute as ever!
I have to say that Matt and Emily are two really lovely people to know let alone work with. We have now filmed three weddings involving Matt & Emily in some capacity. This crowd of friends goes back to their primary school days and they are a fabulous bunch to know and its great to keep filming their weddings. So come on friends of Matt & Emily’s, Ash & Hollie and Tom & Zoe those that aren’t married seriously think about it – do it and love it!
Photographer on the day was the lovely Samantha Pommels, proprietor of Samantha J photography based in Stourbridge, West Midlands. We first met and worked with Samantha or Sam as we call her, at Hollie and Ashley’s wedding back in June 2011 and she is a super talented lady and one we love working with! I cannot rate this lady’s work enough it’s second to none and she not only covers the West Midlands but the whole of the UK! We always look forward to working alongside Sam.
Filming started with Emily’s bridal preparations in the bridal suite. Emily had chosen a Sottero and Midgely wedding gown named “Billie” made of Bordeaux taffeta in ivory with halter neck strap leading to a t-bar at the back made of lace and crystal beading with slimline figure hugging ruched bodice to below the hips then becoming aline. A very beautiful dress and Emily looked fabulous in it with her slim figure. The bridesmaids all wore purple aline dresses with the groomsmen all wearing traditional grey tails. Even the two pageboys, Frankie and William looked very smart in their suits. William another pageboy had everyone laughing during the speeches and it will remain as one of those unforgettable moments when he said “you’re sexy and you know it” during Matt’s speech! A priceless moment to capture!
While I was filming the bridal preps, Barry was busy capturing the lads having drinks, photos and generally relaxing before the guests arrived.
The ceremony itself was carried out by Solihull Registrars who were an absolute pleasure to work with. I think Matt was blown away by Emily’s look as she walked down the aisle with her father. She is afterall a very pretty young lady! The couple had also chosen to add to the traditional vows personal ones to each other. I think this adds to any wedding. Tom, Matt’s friend and one of our past grooms, read out a fantastic Pam Eyres poem which brought laughter as well as some home truths about us all in our married lives!
After the ceremony, came the photos in the hotel’s lovely gardens before the couple made their way back to the hotel for the receiving line. The speeches were excellently delivered by all. All in all it was a fantastic day finally topped off with the first dance and all the lads singing and dancing to Lou Bega’s Mambo No.5.
