Rachel and Thornton were married and held their reception at the stunning Stapleford Park in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire back in March 2012. This was our second visit to Stapleford Park as we’d filmed a wedding there during the summer of 2011.
Stapleford Park is gorgeous stately home set neatly away in the countryside with its own church on site. The church, St Mary of Magdalene was where Peter Crouch and Abbey Clancy tied the knot before holding their reception at the Country Manor house. It also boasts a spa and is great for a weekend get away. The gardens too are very lush with plenty of photographic opportunities.
The sun may not have been shining on the day but it stayed dry and it was lovely to see all the daffodils and bluebells out in full bloom. There is just something lovely about Springtime weddings!
Rachel and Thornton had opted for a civil ceremony which took place in the Orangery, a gorgeous setting for any civil ceremony and certainly fit for a princess!
Rachel wore a gorgeous Ronald Joyce gown, “Daniela” made of silk taffeta in ivory with crystal detail on the bodice with lace up back. She complemented her look with a vintage styled crystal side hair accessory and cathedral length veil. The bridesmaids all wore champagne coloured knee length dresses with Rachel’s Maid of Honour wearing a long satin dress with scoop neck detail. All the bouquets were made up of ivory roses finished off with satin ribbon.
The groomsmen all looked very dapper in their black traditional tails with ivory cravats. Great characters on the day, providing lots of humour throughout the day. The Best Man’s speech one word “hilarious” and written that very morning!
Photographers on the day were the lovely October Willis who runs her own photography business working occasionally alongside her friend, Mandy Carter of Dottie Photography both based in Cambridgeshire. Great ladies to work with and yes their work is simply stunning! We had a fabulous time filming the wedding with Rachel, Thornton & their friends/family.
