I’m so late with this blog post – it has been sat in my drafts for some weeks now so it’s nice to finally share Heather and Ian’s Priest House Wedding Highlights.
Heather and Ian contacted us very early on in December 2012 after deciding that they wanted a video of their upcoming wedding that month. They had done lots of research prior to contacting us and they simply liked our style and the emotion behind our sample footage. Once we got chatting over the phone, we came to discuss photographers. Now we always like to know who will be working alongside of and this wedding – well couldn’t believe it was going to be Neil Butterworth of Butterworth Photography. We’ve worked with Becky & Neil several times now so we know what to expect as they’re a great team to work with.
As time was slim prior to the wedding, we didn’t get chance to met Heather and Ian beforehand so I first met with Heather on the actual wedding day in her suite to film the latter stages of the bridal preparations. Barry stayed downstairs to capture the guests arrivals & the venue scene. The weather wasn’t at it’s best but that’s just something that can’t be booked in advance and you simply just carry on and enjoy!
The wedding was being held at The Priest House Hotel in Castle Donington, Derbyshire. Our first ever time filming there and it is a very lovely venue. The rooms were all decorated with Christmas trees and there is just something lovely about December weddings. I think its all to do with the extra decor – everything always looks so dressed up and just look Chrsitmassy. Well Christmas is one of my favourite times of the year :). The table decorations that Heather had chosen were just beautiful – lilys oozing everywhere – just gorgeous. The cake too also took on the winter effect finished off by two rather cute edible iced penguins.
Heather wore a stunning yet simple fitted gown that she had purchased from Mimi Toko a bridal boutique in Duffield, Derbushire. She complemented her look with a champagne/gold coloured Sash and finsihed off with a lace bolero jacket adorned with diamantes for that little extra sparkle. Ian and his groomsmen had opted for smart suits and ties. After the wedding Heather and Ian were off to New York for their honeymoon seeing the New Year in Central Park – wow! Something that we’d all love to do at some point in our lives, I know I would! I asked Heather where she had met Ian and she told me that they met over work over some emails her father was sending to her. As it turns out, these emails were not permitted so that’s how Heather first met Ian, as he was the IT manager.
