Supplier Spotlight Winner

Hello there 🙂 I’d like to say thank you to all of those that entered Midway Media’s suppliers competition recently. We did pick our winner at random, that winner was Michelle owner of New Beginnings ~ Celebration Stationery from Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, UK. Michelle has written her own post about her business and she’s introducing herself for you all to get to know:

New Beggings

Hello, I am Michelle – the creator behind New Beginnings ~ Celebrations Stationery, I am married, have 3 beautiful children and am based in Hertfordshire…

I have always been creative and I had tried a multitude of crafts in the past, but have always had a passion for paper and pretty things! So when my husband finally agreed to ‘set the date’ for our wedding, which was back in May 2009, I made it clear right from the very start that I wanted to design and make all of our wedding stationery. After receiving such lovely comments from our guests, and numerous people saying that I should consider putting my talents to good use and make Wedding & Celebration stationery for others, I decided to take the plunge and start my own business… and so, New Beginnings ~ Celebration Stationery was born towards the end of 2009 when I received my very first order to design and make Invitations, Order of Service, Guest Book and Thank You cards for a Wedding in May 2010… I haven’t looked back since.

The back story behind the name of the business:

Why I chose the name ‘New Beginnings ~ Celebration Stationery’… The idea came from the theme for our wedding, which was ‘Butterflies’… Butterflies are known to symbolise ‘New Beginnings’, which I thought was very appropriate to that time in my life. Why was this? Well… a ‘new beginning’ as a married woman, turning 40 the day after our Wedding along with the saying ‘life begins at 40’, a new direction in my life starting my own business… I also didn’t want to cater just for weddings, hence the reason for ‘Celebration Stationery’, which covers a vast array of occasions and New Beginnings in peoples’ lives.

What services and products do I offer?

All of my items are articulately handcrafted by myself, everything made to order and not mass produced. I am able to offer the complete package of wedding stationery needs and requirements, from ‘Save the Dates, to Table Plans and Guest Books, and pretty much everything else in between, and more. Many styles and designs are available, everything can be fully personalised to suit your requirements. I also offer a bespoke service too, so if there is something in particular you have in mind, I am always very happy to help design and create what you are looking for. This is one of the things I really enjoy, my clients are extremely important to me and I will work with you every step of the way. I love a challenge and have been asked to make a variety of ‘bespoke’ items, such as a 16 page ‘Who’s Who’ Booklet which had a little ditty about each guest and was a perfect way to introduce and amuse guests at the Wedding Breakfast… I have also designed and created themed items and Table Names for ‘Rock Bands’, ‘Star Wars’ and ‘Superheroes’.

A little about myself and the business:

I am passionate, and a perfectionist, I take great pride in everything that I do, from the quality materials I use, the time and attention to detail given to each individual piece, to the friendly service I provide. It does not matter how big or small an order is, I treat every client in the same way and offer the best possible Customer Service I can, as you never know who your next client could be. This I learnt a couple of years ago when a Bride2B contacted me after reading an article in a Wedding Forum that a past bride of mine had written, she went on to place a small order for some slimline Menus and a little Sign for her destination wedding and was happy with what I had done for her. With the connections and experience I have gained it has allowed me to take on bigger challenges. I have now gone onto creating pieces for a promotional photoshoot, with my pieces being featured in their Wedding Brochures, promotional flyers and Website, another Corporate Event, and more recently commissioned to make some special pieces for their #YourBigDay 2014 Wedding Competition Winners; a lucky couple who won their dream destination wedding.

I am enjoying the journey that New Beginnings ~ Celebration Stationery has taken me on, it has been a little bumpy here and there, but I wouldn’t change a thing. I have taken paths that I never ever expected, and have met some fantastic people along the way. But most of all, I am passionate and enjoy making people happy, knowing that I have created something special, unique and personal for them.

How can you contact me?

Being a self-confessed technophobe, I am at my most confident when working with card, paper and all the pretty materials that come with this wonderful profession of mine, but I now feel that it is time to broaden my horizons and reach out a little further than just the comfort of good ole Facebook, so my intention now (in between working on orders that is) is to focus on having my very own website designed to enable me to showcase my work to a much wider audience… You can currently find me on:
